FRAKKING TAXES!

Ok, so I put off doing my taxes because I knew I was going to owe WV something. Oh boy was I ever in for a shock! Between the Feds, DC, WV, and NY I owe around $8000 in tax! KEE-RIPES, that is a big nut to crack. Guess there will be no more buying parts for the fleet for a while!

Last year I got back a nice bit from the Feds and NY and WV balanced each other out. This year it is crazy!

Who else is getting to pay for the stimulus plan?

You must have a pretty significant income to owe 8k in taxes. 0 sympathy will be given. And I'll ask: ever heard of withholding more throughout the year?

Last week in NJ, I did a double take on two things . . . NY was increasing the "sin tax" on smoking so that a pack, not a carton, was going to run $10.

There was an open house across the street from from my BIL's house . . . the flyer noted that the property tax for that house in Montclair, NJ was $36K per year.

Yup. Not quite as much as you but an unpleasant amount nonetheless. I had my eyes on a manual 240D that's going to have to wait.

Although I did have a little snafu come up by the mortgage company that I'll start on another thread which may effect it a little. Not enough but a little.

You have my sympathy.

But fear not, Hussein needs your money to spread the wealth by re-distributing it. Anyone productive is his version of providing a stimulous.......a hideous way of providing money to the unproductive.

Be sure your IRAs are fully funded to help diminish your tax liabilities for 2008. I'm shoveling as much as I possibly can every year into mine.

It doesn't take much to be short $8K in taxes, suck it up and pay it. I know the IRS is pretty lenient but the states will be up your ass faster than Lieberache. The state of Michigan will give the the unga bunga over $10.00.

And I have a rule, if you have to pay taxes you made money, pat yourself of the back.

Me. I was defined as working poor last year and paid 20%. I was paid as a contractor, so no EIC either.

Glad you figured out how to spell Hussein. Next, stimulus.

By the way, this April's taxes are still W's tax code.

Sadly.

"W's tax code" = Pro-Rich People Tax Code

I'm looking forward to seeing my working class taxes drop next year.

Sorry if that costs us an F-22.

You are now part of "the rich," Hussein is after, by "paying 20%." That ain't poor. Broke? Maybe, but not poor. Broke is a personally-inflicted financial state. -Which btw, defines a sizable percentage of working Americans, financially speaking.

Exactly. I can't even count the number of rich people I have met that claim they are "poor"....its called overspending/spending beyond one's means! BROKE!

I for one, am happily awaiting the new "average person" tax code. Finally some justice!
