Eccentric lady knocks 'em dead on Britain's Got Talent

Wow, first they found the unlikely looking opera singer guy and now this gem. Call me a sap but this kind of story really gets to me.

That must have gone viral recently. The Mrs. has watched it several times today, emailed the link around and it's made it through several of our Down syndrome circles because of the inspirational nature. Unbelievable voice! No one was snickering after the first note! I got a little verklempt (sp?) myself watching it.

Is she somewhat in the Downs category? I can see a trace of it perhaps but not pronounced.

Said in the article that she admits to never being kissed. Looks like some fame and money will be coming her way, I hope she hooks up with the right kind of guy, i.e, not out to get her money.

BTW, if you missed Paul, the opera guy on the same show some time back, check him out. Similar surprise. Check out the lady's reaction around 2:00:

OMG!! That is so awesome! I prefer him over the top tenors of today, but his performance was not quite as good as Pavarotti was. To actually compare his range to Pavarotti though...Wow. I can't believe God made another one. I miss that flawless sound. With a little more practice, who knows what this dude can churn out? Just incredible!!

No but my wife did some more research after being so touched by the video and found mention of some learning disability but nothing specific.

She was a firecracker!

Outstanding! I love watching the the judges' and crowd's reactions when they realize these people can perform and perform well. Definite "Holy $h!t!" moments.

Although I must admit, while getting better thanks to my son, I'm still guilty of prejudging in some instances so I can't give them too much grief for their initial skepticism.

Paul Potts looks like he's done pretty well for himself. A couple opera albums, the second due out in May. I notice he had his British teeth fixed. Good for him! He really does have an incredible voice. I wonder what sorts, if any, of training he had before his appearance?

The Mrs. just might end up with the CD set.

He seems a tad rough around some of his edges but he has a way of putting guts into his sound. Dude moved me, I'll tell you. The hot looking sweetie (what's her name, Amanda something?) looked like she was about to swoon, like that vibration was tickling her unexpectedly.

I read somewhere that he'd appeared previously in some amateur operas and studied with some good teachers but had never done professional work (paid) which is a requirement of the show, that is, not to have done that.

Thanks for the links. I knew he'd been signed for some gigs but I hadn't kept up with him.
