Desperately looking for a source for blank LP record covers.

(As some may remember) My sister's late fiance finished recording his latest album in July '08 in New Orleans and died in August. She found a studio in Memphis to press the album in vinyl (which was always a dream of his). She is designing the cover and wants to hand screen, number and sign the 300 copies (it'll be on CD with the same cover but printed) but hasn't had a lot of luck with her artsy connections finding plain covers (white or tan). Anybody have any possible sources she could try? As you might imagine there aren't many easily found sources for record sleeves anymore.

This means so much to her I'd love to come up with a source.

Go to the forums at audiokarma.org (at which I am a member with the same name as here). Ask in the "turntables" section. They've also got a list of sponsors, several of which specialize in vinyl and turntables. I'm sure you'll get good leads... it's an exceptional forum.

Excellent sounding project - good luck!

Of course, if all else fails you could hunt down 300 copies of the Beatles butcher covers..... :P

Thanks guys! I'll check that forum and those links when I get home. It's a pain on the phone.

I will ask a friend who works at Atlantic Records where they get theirs. I THINK they still do small pressings.

EDIT: Email sent to my friend. Maybe I can score some covers for free;)

Not the answer but this reminded me of a college dormitory mate back in the 1960's who stole LP record albums from grocery stores by hiding them in Pizza boxes.

His father was the Chief of Police in a medium sized Calfornia valley town:eek:

You might try these folks -- http://www.recordtech.com/rtipricelist.pdf

I would think the folks who are pressing the LP could provide blank jackets, though; I assume she checked with them first?

I'll pass that link on.

I'm not sure if she has or not, although I would think that would be the first place to start. All she has is a cellphone and the signal is sporadic in NM. Cellphone and Facebook are my only means of contact and she's has no problem cutting away and heading into the desert for days at a time.
