does anyone make a decent disposable razor anymore
I now have to use two of these POS's in the morning to get a decent shave. I had a braun but the blades in that are $30 and they last about 3 weeks. any suggestions. Im tired of getting cut on a dull razor fresh out of the pack......

I got some Gillette Fusion disposables--Even when new, they seem about equal to a 1 or 2 week used regular Fusion. Not too bad once you get used to them, but not on a par with the replaceable blded ones.
I don't understand why the difference. It seems as if the blades are not locked in as firmly, but thats just my impression |
I've been using the Gillette Fusion since it came out in '05. Best shave I've ever had. Caution, blades are expensive, but last about 5 times longer than the others...
I haven't tried the fully disposable version, because I like the original |
bic and schick work well.
|
I use that Schick 4 blade disposable and am very happy with how it shaves. They don't last a real long time, though.

I use a Gillette adjustable very similar to the one shown on the bottom of that Wikipedia page. It's not a disposable razor, but the blades are - and they're cheap. |
Greatrazors.com
I've been buying my blades from this company for several years now since learning about them in this forum. The blades last a very long time!!!
http://www.greatrazors.com/ At the time, the guy at great razors offered to send any member a free blade so they could try it out. |

for some reason the only Bics I can get in florida is the white top, orange handle ones, I used to use the orange top, white handle ones in Ohio. shicks never work for me at all. I have been using a bic orange handle, then a gillette comfort after that to get a close shave, on days I dont care I just use the bic. either way the bic last 2 shaves and if used second the gillette lasts a week. I used to get a week out of the white handle bics. I think I might try the safety razor or the fusion, Im hating these crappy disposables now, I guess they are made in China now too. |

We went over this a few months back......be a man:) |
I use a Gilette Trak 2 handle (have one for home and one for travel, which I do a lot - bought the second one as NOS from ebay) and generic Walgreens or Walmart double blade refills, since Gilette does not seem to make original Trak 2 blades any more.
I get at least 4 weeks out of one cartridge/blade. I have found that a) one's face gets used to a certain type of razor and 2) when I do finally change the blade after about 30 shaves, it takes about 3 shaves to get the new blade "broken in". It doesn't feel exactly right until it's worn just a tad, or the anti corrosion oil is worn off, or something. I tried my son's 5 bladed razor, the name escapes me, and holy crap was that a different feeling than my 2 bladed thing. And the cartridges are hideously expensive, locked away in a cabinet in the stores! Rgds, Chris W. no electrics for me |
I use my grandpa's old straight razor. You know, the one with the cup and the brush that you make your own shaving lather from. Works especially well cause I only really shave when I go out. You don't need to shave to drive a tractor.....
