Emergency Landing

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oT58Di51wDk

Towards the end I said, "Holy @#$!" right before the copilot did:

Nice job! Looked like some sort of fueling issue - it would come back after a short time and quit again.

lol, nothing to see here just pulling up for a coffee

Its a good thing there weren't any cars on that road at the time. If I saw that in my rear view mirror I would know instantly to speed up and lean on the horn to warn anyone in front of me (Average landing speeds for small planes like that are what 75-120 mph?)

I would have sped up, honed like crazy, and soiled myself

Yeah, I might have the same reaction. That would be interesting to see in the mirror.

For that plane probably 45-55. It should have been slower but it looks like either it doesn't have flaps or they forgot to deploy them.

Great job !!
And then to coast/taxi it off into the parking lot. That’s classic.
He could not have done a better job.

Nor been much luckier.
Wide street. No traffic. And very important… No telephone/power lines that quite often blanket a city street like that.

And to have a video of it... Priceless.

Hats off to that dude.

I noticed that too. Around here a certain divider like that would have been filled with all kinds of wing snapping signs...it reminds me of Top Gears Campaign to eliminate "Unnecessary signs"

Oh, yeah, the power lines! Holy $hit!

I thought he was going to try for the two lane street earlier. That looked like it would get dicey.

As it was it was still a little dicey. Do pilots practice dead stick landings?

Good pilot. Stayed focused. Didn't panic. Probably barfed all over the parking lot after he exited that aircraft.

A perfect example of why I don't like flying, sometimes you come down fast.

Nice landing though!
