Smile So glad I gave up the politics!

It's been a year now since I gave it up cold turkey, for my mental (and probably physical) well being. No more campaigning, no more rallies, no more email blasting, no more political forums, no more talk radio, nuttin'. All of the infighting has made me realize it was the right decision for me. It's not the completely ignorant bliss I envied some of my employees for but it works for me, casually educated ignorant bliss I suppose.

Afterall, I need all of your help if/when my car needs fixing and I don't want the one who knows the answer to be pissed off at me.

And for those of you who enjoy the sport, more power to you and carry on!

As in everything in life, there must be balance.
I would be happy to ignore polics, too, BUT the politicians want to keep changing the rules, medling in my life, and costing me more money thru increased regulations and taxes.

i've been TV free (channels, i still watch dvd's, including recommended by friends TV shows) for about 10 years but i'm an internet news addict. huff post, cnn, crooks & liars, wonkette, drudge, and bbc. and then the weird stuff through i-am-bored, digg, and 4chan.

my cynical nature allows me to read away and expect the worst, thereby never having to be worked up over the stuff i subject myself to.

I fall into that category myself (although I have no faith in career politicians regardless of party) and just figured I didn't need to subject myself to it. And it consumed entirely too much time.

I would hope that most people here don't get angry at each other for having different opinions.

My dad instilled interest in it in me. I regret it. I wish I was one of those people who are focused on their piece of the world. I believe they are not only happier, but accomplish more since they aren't focused on unsolvable problems.
