Nixon & Frost- what is it?
This may have already been discussed, and it may be a no brainer for a more experienced MB owner, but what year and model is the actor playing David Frost in the new(er) movie "Nixon & Frost" driving? My wife commented that "maybe we could get one of those next?!" when she saw it. The front end looks like the one at the start up of my MB Service Manual Library CD-rom. I had a couple of MGB's in our early years together, (my '69 was what attracted her to me when I came home from spring break in 1978), and now that the kids have been gone for a while, she's ok'd another drop top 2 seater. Anybody seen the movie who can identify the Benz in question? Thanks!

There was a 116 in the movie also. Too early for a 300SD I think.

The 113 SLs are my favs. Beautiful cars. That's the car that got my mom interested in Mercedes. Oddly enough, though, all of her Mercedes have had 4 doors. Now, at 65 she thinks she finally wants a sporty Mercedes. Now that she's used to Lexus's I don't think she could tolerate the noise in a 113, or even a 107. a friend of mine has a 560SEC and she complains that it rides too hard.

I thought a 116 is an SD.

An SD is one version of a 116. The earlier versions were gas.

Phyxer- Yet another cool site I'd never heard of, nor even thought would exist! Thank you. It still didn't give the year, though.
And thanks to all the folks with their input. My sense of ignorance on MB's has just quadrupled. Since we have only had 2 so far, the 300D and the 240D that my daughter (who, now that she's moved back to Seattle suddenly thinks "Little Rusty" was an A-OK car, after all {wouldn't listen to the old man}), owned, Some of the numbers and models mentioned are a mystery to me. A)What is a 6.9? What does the "S" in SL or SD signify? For that matter, what does the "L" mean? Please educate me. Thanks for the answers! Lee

I thought it looked like the air suspension was out of kilter on the back of the car. Yes, I saw 6.9 badge also, and with the ride height issue I assumed it was an authentic 6.9.

Just watched it last night, and yes a 6.9 that needs work on the rear air suspension - it was sagging noticeably when he pulled into the hotel.

I noticed the rear sag also. I didn't realize it had air suspension. When was the first hydropneumatic SLS that MB made?
Just looked it up. The 6.9 had the hydropneumatic SLS.

Those had some form of air suspension as well, but I believe it was the more common 6.9 116 body.
