My garage door remote died years ago, not even sure where it is. This brings back memories of my childhood...I was the garage door opener. If my parents had gone out, they would roll into the driveway, and honk the horn. I damn well better come running and open the door, then help them unload the groceries, or whatever they had bought.

My garage is locked, the door to the house is steel, and it is deadbolted and locked, to at least keep amateurs out. MY MATCO rolling tool cabinet is blocked in by a car, with padlocks through several wheels to make it impossible to roll anyway. If someone wants my lawnmower or somesuch, they can have it, I'm just trying to protect the big stuff.

If someone had the misfortune of getting in the house, their day would take a turn for the worse once the beasties got involved. We have 2 sets of dogs, a pair of Boston Terrier lap dogs, and a pair of bigger, more ferocious dogs to keep intruders out.

My garage doesn't have an entry door into the house, which makes it pretty secure.

True...but I sure wouldn't want someone walking off with the tools that are in the garage....

No garage. I do all my work (including turbo swaps and axle swaps) in the parking lot

The tools stay locked in the cellar though

Not very secure, haha... I live in LA and have to park my car on the street. I've only had 1 break-in before though, and it wasn't in my neighborhood thankfully.

Its not very secure but there is a carriage house living quarter above.

I have quiet a few tools but they are so scattered out I can't find what I need most of the time. How could a thief?

If a thief really wants something, they are going to get it... One way or another.

If a thief really wants to take one of the cars, fine with me.... Just make sure the insurance company cannot find it, or that if they do, they total it right on out!

So if someone was stealing the wagon right in front of you...... you would stand still and just let it happen

The DIY is on the Net, just make sure to create a new code that isn't 11111 or 12345, etc, cuz they check those with a program.

Maybe.... Depends on how far away the guy is from me (I am pretty lazy lol), and how big he is. I am not going to mess with some of the big @$$ crack addicts.

Its got a stated value insurance policy of 10k....

Until 1998, our 1956 build home had the original garage doors which you had to open manually. Like you, I was the garage door opener too, lol.
