If they were not living off our money I wouldn't give a damn, once its private its none of my business who gets a bonuses.

Actually we probably are. Back in the day, you weren't allowed to make a move without the phone company knowing. You rented all your phones from them at inflated prices, and they did all the extension installations. They would monitor ringer impedance on your line so if you cheated and added your own "illegal" phone, they would know and then you would be in all sorts of big trouble. I never knew what that trouble was, but it was enough of a deterrent that nobody messed with it or them.

I wasn't there then but I would thing that now it gets more confusing with all the different companies. My Caller ID was wrong at my business and we got that straightened out. However, I had to call several other companies so they got their listings right too. That is why I am not wholly sure we had only good from the breakup. We lose uniformity and now things can get more chaotic.
