V12's are killa'

My '03 S600 has 59,998 miles.

2 coils
24 spark plugs (with boots)
coolant pump for turbo
rad cap
labor

+tax
=$5,058

Good luck to me.

Now I need brakes, air filter and cabin filter. I'll buy those parts online and DIY.

Dayum! So the one thing more expensive than a cheap Mercedes is an expensive Mercedes?! I was checking out some 600 sedans and SLs online last night. Thanks for the reality check!

The coils were $1200 each, otherwise it wouldn't have been that bad.

I'm like Skippy.

I was shocked when I went to purchase parts for the W124 versus the W123 although I will say that other than oil and filters I don't have to purchase much for the W123.

I'm learning the same sad tale with the 740.

Belts
Alternator
Oil and filter
Diff fluid change
Intake manifold gaskets
Backplate gasket
Backplate itself (and another gasket)
Front pads
Transmission fluid change
Spark plugs
Coil cover gaskets
Intake corrugated hose
Labor

About $2K.........give or take.........

Driving like it came from the factory: PRICELESS

as long as you have the deep pockets to keep it, shouldnt be an issue.

If you can afford it then you should have the pockets deep enough to have it fixed.

AFAIK, no leaks. It's "only" got 62K on the clock, but I'll keep an eye on it.

I still need a bunch of crap including some rubber trim mouldings around the windshield and the rear windows. But, it's running very good.........no more CEL.

Yes, you mentioned it last we spoke...........I like this one quite a bit.........I'll probably keep it 10 years..........it doesn't travel more than 300 miles any given month.
