The Absolute Ultimate In BS

Our American puritanical society continues trying to warp the minds of our children. Take away what's natural, and you're going to have problems:

Frost, a senior at Heritage Christian School in northwest Ohio, agreed to the school's rules when he signed a statement of cooperation at the beginning of the year, principal Tim England said.

He knew the rules of the establishment and he violated them. Now he has gotten smacked. What of it? We are to feel sorry for the kid? Why?

"I expected a short lecture about making the right decisions and not doing something stupid," Frost said. "I thought I would get his signature and that would be the end."

Ah, he expected a slap on the wrist and now balks at the price. IOW, he knew it would have consequences and now decided it was too high. Premeditated offense. No sympathy

"For the parents to claim any injustice regarding this issue is at best forgetful and at worst disingenuous," he said. "It is our hope that the student and his parents will abide by the policies they have already agreed to.".

BINGO!!

That sounds like a pretty silly rule, but he signed on knowing it.
Without consequences there is chaos.

Haven't these people seen "Footloose"? I guess not

Since this kid signed the form pledging to abstain from dancing, rock music, etc with the knowledge that he could get suspended or expelled if he broke the pledge, the board can do what it wants. I think the public school should get his transcript and accept him as a student and let him graduate from there if the church school expells him. I think there is a reason why this church school only has 84 students...

The funny thing is if this was happening at a Islamic school nobody would be reporting it...

I hear this all the time, and do not believe it. We don't hear about this sort of thing every day at Islamic schools overseas, but that's fine with me, even though I will acknowledge that they are much, much worse in some ways than Heritage could even think of. They both do have the same fatal flaw, however.

I doubt the high school kid had much choice in signing that form. Any parent that sends his or her child to a school like that is likely to pretty authoritarian, not giving the child a choice in what school to attend. If the child did freely choose that school it's a different matter.

Yeah.

Also, this was pretty douchebaggy:

"Findlay requires students from other schools attending the prom to get a signature from their principal, which Frost did.
...
England acknowledged signing the form but warned Frost there would be consequences if he attended the dance."

Why sign the form? Except to be a prick.

Silly school rule. Silly parent for agreeing to it.

Solution: Skip principal's form, skip the prom. Go directly to hotel room with 12-pack and a 3-pack.

why don't fundamentalists have sex standing up?

it might lead to dancing.

Crazy religous people.

They should get a picture of him half naked with the girl, smoking a joint and drinking a beer, with lesbian devil warshipers in the background. Send that to the school principle.

BTW, the school's rules say nothing about attending, and apparently consequences are not established either. If this were a court case, the school would lose in about a minute and a half.

Child is a ward of the parents so it still falls to the parents.

Exactly. Children are not given the same rights as adults, so there was no choice for this child...and there shouldn't be either. Children should listen to their parents and school administrators or suffer the consequences, period.
