You've never ordered parts for your bikes from there before?
I've ordered some plumbing parts and such from them. Superfast service. Okay prices.

Nope, not really. Bikes are pretty simple thing. 3721 page catalog. I'd like to have one in my reference library!

I have one of their books, it was left over when I graduated high school. I had it so I could order anything I needed for my projects.

That shows how outdated my McMaster-Carr catalog is. It only has 3,120 pages. Their web site is good enough now that I haven't bothered to ask for a new printed catalog for several years.
Another outfit with an impressive catalog is MSC Industrial Supply. Again, good web site design means that I seldom bother with their massive printed catalog. Another neat outfit is Small Parts. Must have their printed catalog, because their web site, IMO, stinks. |

I've been using Mcmaster-Carr for years. They are one of the first vendors I turn to when designing and building special machines and fixtures.

I also like www.grainger.com
I haven't used them since I moved to Utah, as they don't seem to have salespeople out here. I still call on my contacts in Dayton Ohio for recommendations and such on projects.

I stopped using McMaster years ago when the salesman that came around was found to be jacking up the prices but that was an issue with the salesman not the company, they carry a lot of stuff. Now I mostly use Graingers for the everyday stuff.

McMaster-Carr is wonderful for just about everything. if you can think of a part you need they have it... for a price! sometime is sucks. for example I wanted to reduce the trigger pull on one of my old military rifles. one of the enthusiast guys on the internet had some spring specs. so to McMaster-Carr I go, and there I find the spring I need. in a 5 pack $4 plus shipping $5... so it was 9$ for a spring... but you know what where else can you buy a spring like that!
I use them a lot at work. why draw a detail for a bracket so the contractor can build one, when there is the exact bracket I want used in McMaster-Carr. Insert part number here! Its cheaper most of the time anyway.
