Me and My SL-C

In anticipation of driving my SL-C to graduation (Masters of Public Administration, the University of Central Florida) yesterday I did a little AC work (mainly replacing the servo and charging the AC system). I couldn't have had a better day driving the car with the family. Here is the two best pics that came out of me and my car.

Yes, indeed. Very nice. But tell me. Do you have to have that awful oval plate on the front?

Thanks guys!

Nothing like a guiness, aye Lars?

PJ- Find me something better then, I'll gladly place it on the front (anything but that horrible chrome plate with the mercedes star on it, that thing is jsut ghetto)

That oval plate is a German Zoll ("customs") plate. It is assigned to a car when a car is picked up for European delivery in Germany and is good for a period of one year. After that year is up, the car must be removed from the country. That design ran from 1944 (it may have been a year or two earlier) to 1989 when the rectangular plate became the standard.

Interesting. But if you don't require front plates in Florida, wouldn't it look better wthout a plate in front at all?

I find the front licence plate bracket unsightly, it needs to be covered up...

a rectangular euro plate or one that follows the same size as a conventional us plate looks better with the lines, but I kinda like my zoll plate...

One day I will find something that I like better...

Thanks G-Benz, miz mistress, and dee8go, driving the SL-C was the only way to have it...
