Vegans are people who don't know what it's like to feel hunger.

What does this mean?

I'm not a vegan, but I've been a vegetarian for about 20 years. I eat a fair amount of fish and eggs, some dairy. I'm trying to cut back the fish a bit.

I think a vegan diet can be very healthful if approached properly, but it is difficult to maintain, especially if you travel or eat out often. I know the vegetarian diet I eat helps tremendously with weight control and I feel better than I did when I ate meat.

It (vegans) caught my attention today because I was reading about Minnesota Twins' relief pitcher Pat Neshek.

You are not a vegetarian if you eat flesh....you just don't eat red meat. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vegetarian

Sorry, its a pet peeve learned from my brother who has been lacto-veggy for the last 30 yrs. He's +300lbs, has high BP and Col and had heart surgery by 40.

Gimme my red meat and wine.

I don't fully disagree, and as I said I'd like to cut way down on the fish. The term "vegetarian" is loosely defined, and different folks have different definitions. I don't eat red, white, or pink meat. No chicken, beef, pork, etc. Just fish.

My diet has worked for me. Good cholesterol (good HDL/LDL, triglycerides), low BP, good weight. You can be a lacto-veggy and still eat a gallon of ice cream every day and have health problems or be genetically predisposed to high cholesterol and BP.

I do drink plenty of wine!

I know that i'm not the most popular poster here but I think Vegans should gargle with a used Feminen douche, and then they might get a taste of the pink. that is all I have to say.
