Credit Deadbeats

Once again, the American establishment is calling upon us few responsible folks - 1/3 of the population - to take care of our non-contributing bums. It's no wonder our society is going to hell in a handbasket: http://finance.yahoo.com/banking-budgeting/article/107096/Credit-Card-Industry-Aims-to-Profit-From-Sterling-Payers?sec=topStories&pos=2&asset=&ccode=

Who's the deadbeat? The credit card companies created defaults by raising interest rates, cutting limits that resulted in decreased credit scores.

If Obama does one thing in his term I hope its sticking the credit card companies in the ass with a hot poker.

Losers that cannot pay for what they legally agreed to pay for will always be a problem.....they're actually the massive greed problem in this country. Funny, they act like they didn't know they actually owe the money, and somehow resent being called deadbeats. DOH! LOL!

This is a good thing. How would it all hurt the "responsible folks," as you call it?

People who carry balances on credit cards are buying things they can't afford which is what caused them to be in the pickle in the first place. People who don't carry balances will simply start using their debit card rather than their credit card.

If you listen to Dave Ramsey enough you will believe your own BS. I can easily post your duplicate posts from another forum to this forum to make my point about Skidrowjoe.

This is a little above your level but the credit card companies are taking advantage of paying consumers, despite the contractual obligation they had with the credit card company. Despite your own ridicules comments traveling salesman like your self don't sleep in Cracker Barrel and Walmart parking lots they have to use credit cards as part of their business.

Go ahead and retort, I know much more about Skid Row Joe and the belated Cinderella that he might think, so pick you retorts very carefully.

I've heard that credit card companies consider the people who never carry a balance on their cards to be the deadbeats. I'm one of THOSE deadbeats. They have to settle for their merchant fees as far as I am concerned.

I've been on both sides of the "deadbeat" spectrum, your side (now my side) is much better!

I don't dispute the fact the the CC companies have some shady policies and raise their rates seemingly at will, but nobody forces the CC holders to use them above and beyond their means. I was solely responsible for the $45K I racked up.

Just so. It's the only way to live.....I don't borrow money, so I wouldn't know what it's like to not be able to pay bills that have been legally agreed to. Glad I'm not some poor schmoe that is so broke he can't pay for his stupid obligations. It's just another have nots, versus the haves.

Maybe one day our leaders in Congress will learn this lesson. We're ALL in debt up to our eyeballs, thanks to our elected representatives.

I remember your mentioning this. Good for you, Swamp!

I try never to presume upon the future and just assume I'll always be making whatever I happen to be at that moment when I particularly want to buy something I don't have the cash in hand to buy.

That's true, but blaming anyone else for your personal debt is kind of lame.

It's interesting how many broke people call anyone doing better than they are, "greedy." When just the opposite is the case! he - he
