testing out my ligh box

Check it out

not bad, I just need to raise the light box up higher so I can use my tripod.

Made out of foam core display board, parchment paper, painters tape, push pins. Two 500 watt halogen shop lights shined through the side and custom white balance.

I've made portable/foldable ones using the collapsible wire frame/fabric storage crates at household goods stores. Just add a bit of paper to create the seamless backdrop, lights and you're all set. Having different color sets of paper is handy too.

Drafting vellum works well for that.

I'm going to get some wrapping paper from the meat dept today at work.. that will be best.

I got bored...again

I've got some ideas I want to shoot tonight, which requires me to go to work and buy some small items lol

Try this...

Get ahold of some black, blue, green, red and white crushed velvet...absorbs light really well and you can use is for rings, hand shots and the like...we've used it for commercial production in TV all the time...it's very "flexible" in setting up (crumple some newsprint, lay the velvet over it and drape it off the table...).

Makes the shots look a little "classier" if you like...

Canon Rebel XSi with the kit lens at the moment. I needs a flash to bounce off the top and fill in more and maybe a macro lens for some close up fun
