Too bad they were. Otherwise, if an accident happens, you will be able to respond with "Oddest OBJECTS that you've seen on the highways".

They are that way. When we do business in Nam, they don't believe in checks and banks. They bring cash. What a PITA. Surprise that lots of folk stopped to pick up but not much returned?

Did you put the toy to good use?

So does this mean you don't know if it works and how well it works? What kind of strap on was it? There are so many kinds.

Sounds like a plan. Lets make everyone "My Brother's Keeper".

The future of American motoring technology . . .

Motorized Furniture. Sure, there have been powered barstools, but this 3 seater is plush and can outrun Santa on rollerblades!

A twenty five foot sailboat on the I-5 towards San Diego; it was still sliding and the pick up truck and trailer just pulled over when I passed it...

The weirdest thing I have ever seen on the road was a 400lb man driving a I think it was a neon convertible, could be wrong, anyways it reminded me of the lady in the Gilbert Grape movie. He filled up the whole car. I think that if he made a right hand turn, that little car would have flipped over.

The oddest object I've ever seen on the highway was on the New York Thruway back about twenty or so years ago, it was the tread coming off a tractor trailer tire, heading straight at me at 70 mph or so, as I was riding a few dozen car lengths behind the truck on my motorcycle. I also heard a strange, weird sound, which turned out to be me, screaming my lungs out. While I was successful dodging the tread, which probably would have ripped my head clean off, I did lose control of the bike, sliding down the embankment, eventually landing in a boggy road side swamp sans motorcycle, from which I had separated from a hundred yards or so previously, which probably saved my life since it tumbled end over end quite spectacularly while I became more of an airborne projectile. I spent most of the next couple of weeks plucking gravel from various parts of my body, but other than road rash and scratches, I was ok, a testament to helmet use and leather road wear, and my natural instinct to roll myself into a ball like an amardillo.

Driving the Trans-Canada highway in Northern Ontario back in the 70's in the middle of nowhere, I passed a tractor trailer sitting on the side of the road. It had been carrying a pile of huge sheets of steel probably 1/2" thick 8'x40'. Must have hit the brakes too hard because the top sheet of steel extended from the trailer out over the hood of the truck at about the dash level. The top half of the cab was nowhere to be seen. Doubt the driver ever knew what happened to him.
