It will be a cold day in hell when Iran's or NK's piss ant navy can challange ours. Sending some clapped out Russian POS ships into international waters doesn't really impress anyone, but themselves.

One carrier battle group would easily be able to drive them from the seas.

They had their ass pushed back to the Yalu river in pretty short order by MacArthur. It was the Chinese that bailed them out of that mess.

What's your point? They, like most of our allies are NOT your BFF. When there is some reason they have to join forces, they will. When there isn't, piss on you. When they have a reason to oppose you, bet they will. Just because they participate in this event doesn't count for squat. They are protecting their own interests.

Again, you seem to think potential means much. If so we would have massacred the insurgents years ago. We have all the hardware and they have little. It is the will to fight and the willingness to use everything at their disposal that wins the fight.

My point is that having navy ships in international waters is not the sign of the apocalypse TxJake thinks it is.

Also the Azoreans have not had similar history as the Iranians, have they? Either case, I usually start off by NOT trusting the goodness of the other side. A technique that has served me well in the past and I see no reason it won't in the future. I guess trust was something I don't often have when it comes to people. Dogs, yes. People, HELL NO.
