Does Apple have any viable servers yet? I mean, compared to what you can get running Windows. Until they do, Apple will continue to be limited to desktop applications.

Yea, something like that. The 8-core Xeon looks to be pretty competitively priced with Intel offerings from H-P. Why don't people use them then?

For many corporations, they have buying practices based on manufacturer discounts. So, to get the cheap laptops and desktops for deployment to the "worker bees" . . . they have to buy the servers from the same company, typically HP or Dell.

For smaller operations, local based tech service may play a part and who those service providers support and there's also the not wanting to catch "Apple-cooties" thing . . .
