have to have one to get the new one. looks like it was made for the showroom. would be cool if I had unlimited fundage

youknow what I don't understand about these sports cars is:

why is the mpg so terrible even at cruising? Its made of carbon fiber and has a lower cD than any car on the road? Sure its got a big displacement, but once you're at cruising speed... what force is requiring that much fuel?

because they still have the same displacement and HP, whether it is used or wasted. Now if they wanted to cut out cylinders it would be better, but adds a lot of complication to what is essentially a race car motor

thats where the word 'HP' gets confusing. HP is the ability to do work in a given amount of time, correct?

So if you're burning twice the fuel of a vehicle with the same weight doing the same speed, isn't the car improperly geared?

If you're you're using 400ft-lb of torque when you only need 150 to keep speed, aren't you over-geared?

Of course, they didn't make this car to save gas, and its designed as a ' speedster', but its just seems ridiculous that with all the technology and designing that goes into a million dollar automobile that it still gets 12 mpg cruising.

problem is you cant take a 600HP motor and get 40HP out of it when you want only 40HP. maybe you could run in high gear at 70 and get better, but the HP curve may be set for high RPMs and may not make the 40HP at 1200 RPM without doing damage or loading up the motor with unburned fuel.

that makes sense.

Like some cars have the ability to 'turn off' cylinders, or Honda's V-tech design that allows the engine to breathe differently depending on the situation.

This car is designed for 'on demand' torque and acceleration throughout its speed range and is always running on a steep part of its power band.

Expected price $1,000,000.....owners probably aren't going to be too concernced about gas mileage when they send their $120,000 a year personal assistant to go fill it up at their personal gargage located gas pump inside their $10,000,000 dollar house...
