It's the "I'm off the market" vibe that attracts women. Whenever I was in a relationship, the same thing happened to me, When single and looking, I was like a disease. Amazingly, now that I have accepted the fact that I will likely be single for the rest of my life, and marriage/relationships are no longer important, and I am focused on my personal development and fulfillment, female attention is at an all-time high. Women seem irresistibly drawn to men who do not need them.

Yep, Shar Pei's are chick magnets. But sometimes Shar Pei's do too good of a job being cute. Ocassionally Gay dudes come up to me and want to pet my dog.

I think my Weims attract just as many, but you do have a distinct advantage.

The problem with larger dogs - well endowed women in skimpy summer tops, don't need to bend over to pet them.

All right, I may regret this but since I like you guys, I'm going to share a nifty way to meet ladies.

First to explain, I have one of those "sponsor a child's education" things going on in Nicaragua. She's 17, about to graduate, I've been with her for 10 years. Sweet kid. They send me a photo of her with her mother at least once a year. I send her small gifts like T-shirts, soccer balls, pencils and paper, etc. Same outfit that was featured in the Nicholson movie "About Schmidt." I chose a girl because of all I've read about the neglect of girls' education.

She had been asking me to send more photos of myself, and I didn't have any recent ones I liked. So I went to nearby Stanford, bought her a Stanford T-shirt and some postcards of the school for her, and then sat on a stone fountain wall out front of the campus bookstore with my camera, waiting for cute girls to come by to ask to take my picture.

To shorten my story and not be too drippy, I told them that my sister wanted me to send my niece some pictures of Stanford and a T-shirt to get her excited about college. Close enough. I will send this girl to some college if at all possible, though Stanford is not likely. Oh well.

Oh man, the young ladies were only too happy to take my picture. I asked 5 different ladies over the course of an hour. I got some good nibbles, mostly just friendly chit chat, and went out for a bite to eat on the spot with one who I still see now and then.

Spare me the lectures about corrupting young girls. Young guys can be asses and stupid, I know I was, life is a mystery, so is love, etc. etc. The ladies are adults and looking to learn about the world. I'm here to help.

This has become a bit of a challenge for me. She was just an gangly looking kid during most of our acquaintance and now she's transformed into a real beauty. Her eyes have a clarity and honesty that are rare, IMO.

Not that I want to jump her bones, far from it. I told her that I'd like to regard her as a niece and she wrote back that she likes that idea. She's been dropping hints that she'd like to come to the US to study. Unfortunately, I'm no rich man but this whole thing has me more motivated to get richer.

I chose Nicaragua because of all I'd read about the travails of Nicaragua under the thumb of the Yanqui. I had met George Schultz (me of all people) on a job site in Palo Alto in '99. Our company was building a really fine 9,000 sq. ft. mansion. Turned out he's an longtime family friend of the lady of the house.

I was thinking, 'oh man, think of all the funds that were devoted under Schultz's direction to wreak mayhem on Nic., I wonder how much he's devoted to helping the country? Then I had the thought, 'OK, what have you done for the people of Nicaragua, oh mighty cmac?'

The outfit, Childreach, aka Plan USA has fairly strict rules on what you can do. No cash gifts, limited gifts of any kind, and no direct communication until they turn 18, at which point you can send your address and it's up to them if they want to correspond. She'll be 18 soon and I'm struggling with whether or not I should send them $$ to help with crushing poverty. I've heard if you send too much, they get resentment from their neighbors. Plus, I'm concerned that, say, $50 a month, might be so much on their exchange rate that it could make them soft and dependent on it.

OTOH, this kid is close to my heart, due in no small part to the fact that I have no biological chilluns . . . yet anyway. And, her father is deceased.

Yo necissitos hablar Espanol.
