It's tiny. The base is about 1 square inch. And yeah I need couple three score of those.

my german's a little rusty. (btw, germans are a very literal people; neologisms are usually comprised of existing words)

Why are you sure that they didn't have them custom made?
In the pictures, it appears to me that the Xtracycle logo is molded into the part.

If you need a bunch of them, you might check around a bit to see if there's a distributor who sells them at a better price.

Yes. Tooling costs are not what they used to be. Have you heard of China? They got rid of tooling costs along with free speech.

The "thingies" go on the inside and face outward and down. The racks on the back are then pulled together using a strap of some kind.
