I think they do know that. How many times have they given you the shaft and you just lay there and take it?

That is the reason they cut your pay and didn't tell you about it. They knew that you would lay there and take it.

BINGO!! I think what we are saying is that you are having a sign on your head that says "I'm a rug. Walk all over me.".

True, right up until a few minutes ago when I had a little 'chat' with them. My pay will be going back to its normal rate for next week.

Don't quit until you have another job lined up.....call Human Resources and or the payroll department and ask if there was a memo or letter sent out that you did not receive about this and then ask your supervisor why you weren't notified in writing.

Company is too small for a human resources or payroll department. In the past yes, in the future yes, but not right now.

I tend to think that is a bad move since you would have little reason to say why the future employer cannot contact your previous employer. I can ask that you don't contact my current employer but if you extend it to previous employer, I'd be suspicious.

I'm normally a high road guy, but in this case the only people you do favors for taking the high road is them. At your expense.
They need to learn that less pay= less effort.
No... if they fire him for slacking off-He is not elegable for unemployment--and try to dispute it with the state board-Good Luck. Companys all across the country have as sophisticated a system to use the system as possible, he was given an employee handbook with all kinds of policys-that can often be vague--So they do a summary hit---They take some obscure trivial thing that EVERYONE does and selectively, arbitrarily target the certain people to get axed.
And something else that everyone needs to know about that is going on all across the country with UI recipiants and their malicious ex employers. The HR creeps are able to look back to the ex employees pre employment history and find lies about history-or information left out-deception. and they can then go aftre a ex employee drawing UI for frawd. In Texas it's a 2nd class misdemeanor. The average time amount is---The recipiant has been on unemployment for 4 mos and collected $6500.00, then all the sudden they get the letter from the DA---The sonofa*****es have filed frawd against you. you can go get a employment lawyer--which is just paying his fee as well as restitution and an average of 300-400 hrs community service. Who got this system setup--PRo Big Buisness REPUBLICANS who HATE unemployed people-The visable ones on the unemployment who do not make them and ther allies the state associaton of buisnesses -look good.

Well, if you want to put it that way, whether he slacks off or not, he can be fired since they can trump up any reason.

Question: Do you own your own business and have to pay unemployment insurance? If so, do you know employees that abuse that system? I can say "Yes" to both. You? Do you know how many "friends" I have that purposely work to get fired so they can claim unemployment when they are too lazy to work? Do you know people who are on unemployment who purposely sabotage their job seeking efforts so they can suck on the tit a little longer? I do. Bottom line, neither side is full of saints.

Yes-that is true, how many employees do you have? Also i was wondering, you often bring up you are a buisness owner who got tired of -The Man- What exactly is your buisness? Seems you mentioned your old job was working in a office mailroom.

Actually, I started my own business because I saw the writing on the wall that they were closing up the department. When you see the Parent Company's VP of IS firing your company's VP IS, and critical supplies like tape backups are not ordered like they should and this new VP lives 500 miles away and flies in for 3 days a week plus other things, you kinda get the idea that this is not going anywheres fast. We have 10 employees here and we produce animal feed for export only. Most of our employees are in the receiving country in Asia. China and Nam. I used to be in IT and we worked in the darkest pit of the company building.
