Anyone here have an F250 Ford?

Bride and I are making a long trip to Indiana in the F250 and the passenger seat really doesn't move far enough back for the Amazon bride.

Does anyone know of a way to relocate that seat further back in the cabin so she can have some legroom?

this must be an older f250 as I would think a newer one would have sufficient legroom

I've never heard of that problem in an F250. She must be really tall. Anyway, you may find the answer you're looking for over at http://www.thedieselstop.com. It's kind of like this site, only for diesel Ford trucks.

Which year? On mine, the seats are really high and I have to actually sit way forward to make sure I can fully depress the clutch! Both seats will also move almost all the way within 4" of the back seat.

It may be possible to unbolt the seat from the track and move it into a set of adjacent holes on the track.

Another option might be to raise the seat a couple inches to get more support on the bottom of the legs.

With the seat all the way back, The back of the seat should be touching the rear wall of the cab. If it does, there is no way to increase the legroom--other than section the cab and add 6 to 8 inches.
If the rear of the seat does not touch the back of the cab, then clean out the accumulated junk behind the seat.

The truck is a 2002 F250 Super Cab and when the seat is all the way back on the passenger side, her knees are less than 3" from the dash. The Amazon Bride is a shade over 6' 1" tall and pretty big to boot. For her, it's like sitting in an airliner seat.

I find it cramped over there otoo....for some reason, its nothing like the driver's side which I can sit in for hours on (my) end.

That's the same truck body as mine. I'll take a look and see if there's anything that can be done. I know the floor area is quite a bit smaller because of the exhaust coming down on that side.

I love driving my truck too. I've been all over the country with it and it's on par with the Benz as far as long distance comfort is concerned. Now the ride is a little busy but it's OK on a good road.

OK, an update:

I just looked at the seat tracks and it seems entirely possible to relocate the seat tracks back further on the mounts. In fact, I can feel an extra set of holes about 2 1/2" back from the existing bolts. If these aren't suitable, it should be pretty easy to drill another set wherever you want them.

Now, the only drawback to this is that the plastic cover that wraps around the right side of the lower part of the seat is in contact with the seat track with the seat is all the way to the back. The only way around this it seems, is to cut a little section out of the cover so the track can extend through when it's in the rear-most position.

For those not familiar with trucks a F250 Super Cab is an extended cab. It has a small folding bench seat behind the front seats and small suicide doors for access. A Crew Cab has four full size doors.

In the Super Cab the front passenger seat should slide back to the point where it almost touches the rear bench. I would imagine the front passenger seat could be relocated/modified for more room.

Thanks to all for the input on this. I could have looked myself but have been extremely busy the last few days getting some warm season forage in the ground so, I was fishing to see if someone else had experienced a similar need.

I wasn't too inspired to explore under the seats in our 100+F temps either.
