The kicker is that the the person investigated and his group actually repaid half of the money they received from us. What does that make you believe that the IG was a fascist pig who had it out for the poor children of Sacramento or that there was actual graft involved?

Hmmm not having confidence in the IG that oversees Americorps and the Corporation for National Community Service, while the person being investigated is an Obama supporter. gee the firing must be due to incompetence...

More right wing spin. The Americorps board unanimously asked that this guy be fired, Republicans and Democrats alike. The supposed "Obama crony" has already been prosecuted, charges were dropped because the US Attorney said the case was trumped up, which was one of the reasons the board asked that the IG be fired. This turkey died on arrival at the Fox News desk a week ago, even they know this story is going nowhere, because for the most part, it is total right wing BS.

The facts are not nearly as one-sided as that AP story makes them appear.

For example, according to ethics counsel at the White House:

It is also alleged that he seemed disoriented at some meeting and people wondered whether he was up for the job. I don't know who's telling the truth, but AP's report is definitely slanted in Walpin's favor.

As JR noted. Walpin's firing did not originate in the White House. His removal was requested by the entire board of the corporation he was supposed to be overseeing.

And why is Walpin doing the talk show circuit right in the middle of this whole affair? That is clearly inappropriate while the matter is under investigation.

Some serious allegations have been thrown out here, so an investigation is probably in order, but it is way premature to be accusing Obama of doing anything wrong.
