the made in China stigma lives on

Good thing there's enough spacing so the complex didn't go down like dominoes.

Look at the ground and the footings. First the ground is crap, and the footings seem pretty skimpy.

What a waste. Those apartments were probably never going to be occupied anyway and maybe that's why they didn't bother with a solid foundation. In an article I posted here recently the author talked about how in China people are crazy about investing in real estate but there are no property taxes and thus no incentive to actually occupy the living spaces. It's a huge bubble waiting to pop and it's using up a tremendous amount of resources.

Besides the paint being lead based I don't see anything wrong with it.

Well your a bit off their.

Their are no property taxes like we have in this country, but the government has to be your partner in everything so your taxed in a different way.

The Chinese property bubble has popped, did over a year ago in a big way. Its not that they don't want to occupy the buildings since thats how you make money, its just that their is such a surplus they can't find tenants. In some cities they have a 20+ year supply of office space.

The bubble was in large part driven by the government, because it wanted to make money.

The buildings in the background look quite similar. I wonder if they're gonna fall over too.

We assume from the pictures that it fell over. Maybe they build them horizontally then get some rope and a lot of manpower to pull them upright

I'd like to hear details. Was there an earthquake? It would appear that the one side must have sunk. Kindof reminds me of the leaning tower of Pisa.

Care to "invest" in one of the two remaining buildings???

Those look like 2 meter piles rather than 20's to me!!!

Mighty putty that sucker back to the ground.

On the other hand, every one on that side of the building now has skylights!
