Guess their HMO doctor failed them. Too bad. It might have been good if we adopted those practices. It might solve our healthcare COST crisis. Mumble a few words, hold hands (grope the girls if you can), a little wine and olive oil with a fan and humidifier probably costs less than a doctor visit.

Tough call. Religious freedom and parents' rights vs the state's perception of a child's best interests. I'm hoping the decision comes down more on the side of parents' rights, but it wouldn't surprise me if the opposite happened.

Well, kids quite often take up their parent's superstitious beliefs so there is one less and maybe if their kids died more often it might either shock them into not believing in their crap and/or thin out the weak herd enough that it disappears. Also, it sets a valuable example to others as to what the ultimate price that someone else has to pay for their stupid beliefs.

Not much chance I'm afraid.

the parents should be infected with pneumonia and made to suffer the same way. slow painful death - no medical assistance of course, that would be blasphemous. maybe the pastor and church members too.

religous freedom and parents rights? yes, let's the ignorant and superstitious run the world.

Nothing to understand. Even if you could, why bother?

These people have their superstitious beliefs and they insist on clinging on to them. You can't change a person's belief. Only they can change it. Therefore, you have to simply accept that it is what it is.

That's the tough question, isn't it? I don't want the govt in my life but because they are paying the tab sometimes, it isn't my choice totally anymore is it? Here is the question, if you want to tell the govt to FO, are you willing to not accept aid from them? IOW, if your kids get sick and you are broke, tough. Otherwise, what you are saying is that the govt cannot intervene but when the time comes, they need to be able to pick up the tab. How is that fair? Just like at home, Mom and Dad set the rules. If I don't like it, I move out. If I want to have 10 girls over in my room every night, not a thing my Dad can say. HOWEVER, when I stay with him, he can.

The solution is to get the govt out of our lives otherwise, as long as they have some financial interest, they have the right and obligation to see that their subjects are cared for in the way that will not burden them.

I believe that the LORD gave some of us the ability to learn to heal people through medicine. Thats what Doctors are for.

Doctors and the pharmaceutical industry kill more children each year than religious "nut jobs" who deny their children medical treatment. The vast majority of doctors do no harm, but neither do the vast majority of religious parents, including the "nut jobs".

But I'll bet they cure way more.

Doctors are the third leading cause of death in the US, and nobody is suggesting we do away with doctors. Yet a few unfortunate cases involving religion and denial of treatment, and religious and parental rights are called into question.
