Anybody had hair transplants?

Hey, I've been losing hair since I was about 17 years old and it's not the attractive kind of pattern baldness, rather it's just thinning on top and the front.

I've heard lots of ads like Bosley and such but I've never really considered this for myself until lately. My concerns are:

1. It's going to be dissapointingly expensive (like dating services) - think $10 grand.

2. If I go check it out, the're going to use presure selling and offer me a deal that I have to take advantage of right then with no time to think about it. (like dating services)

Your thoughts...

I say try a really short hair cut first and see if you like it. Like Jean Luc Picard's do. My brother is thinning and looks MUCH better with a trim to about 1/8".

EDIT: Another bonus to having the short cut is being able to add your haircuts to your list of DIY. :D

I recommend the Swampy System. Shave it and send the $10k to me. ;)

It might be different if I had a pattern baldness thing going on but having lost all of it to Alopecia I never gave it much thought. Having an exceptional scalp helps. :)

Yeah, I thought about wearing it really short but I don't have great skull structure so that's pretty much out... I used to cut my own hair. I did a pretty good job of keeping it neatly trimmed but my barber is only $15 including the tip so it just doesn't make sense to do it myself.

You do have a nice scalp Swamp.:D

I started shaving my head to 1/8" ever since we had kids. It's super convenient. I never have to think about my hair anymore unless it's time for a fresh trim.

I just checked out your pics again to see your skull structure. I think you might just think you'd look bad because you aren't used to seeing yourself that way. Your head appears to be shaped nicely from the pics I saw.:D

I thought my head was shaped poorly for a shave, but after seeing it in the mirror for a few days, I think it's fine now.

Are you picturing this?:D

Yes! DIY 1/8" no cost and convenient.:D
Even if I could grow hair I would not go back.

Now now, play nice, there are other options as well such as the half cut.

If your previous post was appointed the *best* response in the annals of MBshop history.....I hereby declare this to be the worst.

For now, I have to shave. I wish I could have lasers fix it so it is permanent.
