I AM SO SICK AND TIRED OF MJ ON THE TV....

This is a rant.....

I am just so sick and tired of hearing, watching and listening to Michael Jackson stuff. I have been in China for the past three weeks, and well, to begin with the TV is not good at all, there are 4 1/2 channels in English.

Some Movie Channel that replays the same movies over and over again.
BBC
CNN
CNBC
Some other channel that has a bunch of stuff but depending on the hour of the day or whatever, it shows things in English and then in what ever Mandarin or Cantonese the other times.

Therefore, there are three news channels, and both BBC and CNN do not stop!!!!! And then CNBC which is supposadly a financial thing, even has MJ stuff on 1/3 of the time.

I CANNOT STAND IT ANYMORE.

Come on, you think that Jesus Christ was just sacrificed last week!!!!!

Also, does not anyone remember all the allegations of child molestation? OK, granted, he was famous and he had money, you get one allegation and/or lawsuit just cause of that. You get all of what he had, and everything that he has done, and though not convicted, one starts to think, OK, there can be something to this???????

Where is smoke, sooner or later there is fire!

So why pay all this hommage to a person like this? And in these times of crises that LA spends 1.5 million of taxpayers money to give homage to a pederast????

I CANNOT STAND IT ANYMORE!!!!!!!!

ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OK, feel better now.....

Thanks for listening!

I feel you. I am INCONUS, and there is way too much coverage. The guy died. Now we know. That's enough reporting for me. Please move on to something else.

I agree - it has been excessive. Honestly I felt much worse when Billy Mays died than when MJ did...

I think the worst was when Fox news recently had a panel discussing how MJ had too much press coverage in his death. Of course they were all in agreement and spent 30 minutes talking about how there were more important things going on, like our country going towards socialism, led by satan herself Nancy Pelosi, etc. etc. 2 hours later, I was flipping through the channels again and hit Fox News...HOUR SPECIAL ON MICHAEL JACKSON. Way to make yourselves look good FNC, way to go...although at this point I know better than to not take anything on TV with a grain of saalt (especially FNC)

I remember when Elvis died, and I don't believe there was that much press back then! Of course, we didn't have CNN and FOX either!

And maybe there wasn't that much coverage because he really ISN'T dead!

That is the truth. He just died.....now there is going to be the long drawn out coverage concerning his estate and every 'friend', 'family' member, star and star attorney is going to be on the 'news'. Then there we be discussion of memorials, holidays, and the like.

It is dirty laundry and it makes money for the media because unfortunately there is a vast amount of people that have such small lives that suck up this stuff as if they could not survive without it. Whether you like MJ or not I believe that it sad how a death has become so commercialized; directly or indirectly.

The safest measure that you can take is just turn off the TV.

It's pathetic allright. Just anohter example of the ****edup priorities of the society. I was at the checkout in the local supermarket with my wifes two kids. The girl is seven. Of course all the tabloids are plastered around the checkout counter. So as we were waiting in line the girl says something about whose MJ? So I said it's Michal Jackson. She's looking at the photos on the covers and says Michael? how come he looks like a girl? I answered because he's a freakshow, but happily now he's dead. I got the distinct impression the rest of the folks in line didn't share my sentiments.

It's amazing - all the childish, right-winged, "ugly American" type of responses to this thread. Sure, MJ was strange, but he was a hell of a performer and he was a humanitarian as well, albeit a bit misunderstood. I find it really hard to believe that he ever molested any child, while publically admitting that he allowed children in his bed. He was wierd, without a doubt. Or maybe not. How many of us would choose to remain a child if we could.
And to the poster: if you are tired of all the MJ stuff on TV, you could simply turn the stupid thing off and have done with it.

I agree on this, I think that if I were the parent of a child actually molested, or the child, I would want the guy thrown in jail. 15 milllion bucks would not nearly be as justifying than seeing him put away for a while. My humble opinion is that they were gold diggin'. That being said, I don't think it would be right to sleep in the same bed as someone else's kid, but Michael was a very very odd man trying to reclaim his childhood. I respect him greatly for his musical contributions, personal life is his own business. Albeit, I do think the media coverage has been somewhat exhausting - if anything hopefully a good example for people not to abuse prescription drugs.

What's to misunderstand? Would you be as understanding if I was had your daughter in my bed tonight and she was jail bait?

I don't know if MJ molested kids, but Elvis had a relationship with Priscilla beginning when she was 14. He was 24 at that time. By Texas law at least, that would make him a sex offender.
