Cutting Clay Drainage Tile
I have a broken clay downspout drainage tile. Is is possible to cut it with a sawzall? The reason I ask is if I can't cut it with a sawzall then I will have to tear out a sidewalk.
Thanks

You should be able to cut it with an abrasive blade. Do you have room to use a circular saw with an abrasive blade?

I will likely have to remove the sidewalk if I have to use a circular saw. The tile is next to the foundation about 40 in below ground level and the sidewalk is two feet from the foundation. Nothing is easy. I'm thinking I going to have to cut the sidewalk or punt. ie bypass the drain.

Try it! Who knows how tough the tile is after all these years. There might even be a specialty blade for this sort of fun.
Good Luck!

It can be cut with an abrasive hacksaw blade. The blade is 1/8 inch dia steel rod coated with carbide abrasive. They are designed to fit a standard hacksaw. Using water while cutting will speed the work. If it is a large pipe then you need something better. Good Luck

I have cut clay sewer pipe before with a sawzall. You can, just need the right blade.
My tool of choice is the cut off saw; but sometimes their isn't room for one.
