I got all my financial aid for school by filling out the FAFSA. It really does work (moreso if you have excessive need).

Try a good library- back in the day there was a yearly book out that listed grants available.
I imagine the google interwebby thing might have supplanted it.

I believe this would be the library database you mentioned above. I am going through the government for most of my loans, financial aid has been a big help through my school since I'm pretty poor, and the fafsa should kick in pretty well this year for me as well. Good luck, finding loans is at the bottom of my list of most desirable pasttimes...maybe above grinding out the w126 ignition lock.

My oldest daughter just last Saturday was notified of her DODEA grant. 22 mo of 100% paid Grad tuition, all books and lab fees and up to $1200 mo for rent/mortage. Dad's wallet feels much better.

FAFSA works. If you are not real needy, all you get is interest-free loans to cover the gap between tuition and the calculated family contribution. But something is better than nothing.

I would ask your school's financial aid office and advisors if you are facing hardship.

Financial aid? Didn't exist in my day. Tuition was $700 per semester. (A&S'70)
What's the sticker price out there these days? North of 40 yet?

How about $834 a semester hour.

Tuition for the 2009-2010 school year is $834.00 per semester hour. MCSOL a locked tuition rate. Therefore, your tuition per hour will remain the same for the three years you are here.

First year students are required to take 30 hours for the year; 15 hours for the first semester and 15 hours for the second semester. Students coming in the summer for the Academic Support will have 16 hours at the completion of the fall term.

Guilty your Honor. I confess. I am sooo oooold........

....but it went up fast. By the time I graduated, I think is was about 2,500 to 3,000 per semester. Tuition only. I don't think they charged by the credit hour in the 60's.

IIRC, I paid $21 a semester hour for my MASTERS degree. The BS was only $17/ Semester hour.

OK, I'm old.
