Please let me know if this item has any fault so I can know how to fix it up.
I hope to read from you soon because I need this item urgently and I know that the check will have to clear before pick up.I will only need to know tour full names and contact address to send the check to you.I can also send the check to your bank to save you of some stress so you will only go to your bank to collect cash.Have a lovely day.
Thanks.
Helen.

There must be some software out there that combs these ads and puts together these inquiries based upon the wording the your ad. I have been selling some stuff on CL lately and have gotten a lot of those.

I'll bet you're right. Tonight, I'm going to concoct a bogus ad and see what happens.

They have an interesting concept on how they are going to actually pay you MORE than you were asking and throw in an exhorbitant amount for shipping, or send "their agent" to pick up said item.

I replied to a couple of them that I may have been born at night, but it wasn't LAST night.

I replied to that one saying that I'd misstated the price and it was actually $4000 instead of $400.

if you reply, you give them your email address. the craigs mail reply hides your account until you reply. that is the first thing they want, then you give name and address, thats the second thing, then if you send money thats the big payoff, but your email back with address info is also a win for them too

Hey, I just heard back from Helen. She's willing to pay $4000 for my clapped-out farm truck!!!!! All I need to do is send her the details from my BOA or Wells Fargo account!!!!!!!

Yippee!

Your next step is to inform her the amount is not in USD's but in Euro's.

If she's going to wire it, it may be worth the time and effort to set up a temporary BOA account, to see if it goes through. If not, no real loss. I would think wiring money would be good, instead of a phony bank cheque.
Or, like I do, just delete the responses.

Stick with that one.

If you open a "temporary" BOA account for me to transfer money into, and you have another "permanent/active" account with them...
With one phone call, I can get that account number too.

I would avoid all communication with "Helen" like a fresh picked bushel of poison ivy.
