Wait for it and follow it's advice unless you want to mimic a WWI gas attack victim.

Another lesson should be not to load a 1100x1500px image on an extremely slow server. I thought I was gonna learn a good lesson!

Freon will do the same if passed through a flame. Early A/C leak detectors used a propane torch and a hose to draw the freon in. A change in the color meant a leak. It was also known the detector gave off phosgene, but mechanics still used it.

Which quickly degrades into chlorine gas which is corrosive as hell if you turn it loose in your shop when doing refrigeration repairs. Don't ask how I know.

I wonder if some kids have already tried this as a recreational drug...with fatal results...

What's funny (not really) is that I've read stuff like that on the back of cans before...but unless you remember certain aspects of phosgene gas and its history during WWI., you have a tendency to think "Nothing like that could happen around here..."

We have a tendency to assume that because we hold a simple container in our hands, what possibly could go wrong here?

Our own Government wouldn't allow us to practice "death and dismemberment" on ourselves without holding our hands? Right?

Then it happens...

Apply a little heat and *POOF!* - "Mr. Wizard" has just gassed the neighborhood kids downwind from his garage 'cause he's a dum-bass...

Makes you almost want to sell all your tools and let Mr. Goodwrench take chances with his own life...and I want to stay out of the garage whenever a torch gets lit up!!!

Naw...I'll just pay closer attention to the warnings and remember why they got stuck on the can to begin with...

Some dum-bass, somewhere, decided he knew better than the chemical engineers that made the stuff and was going to take a few shortcuts...and now, we get to do the extra reading 'cause "Mr. Wizard" is either hoping his Iron Lung's batteries never fail or he's feeding the flowers, grass and weeds from below...

I would probably be skeptical of your comment if I hadn't experienced it myself. My brother dropped a cigarette ember that found its way between the folds of a leather recliner that eventually resulted in just a tiny wisp of smoke. No flame, just a steady tiny wisp of smoke. It was suffocating. I tried to douse it with some water but was unsuccessful so we had to immediately throw the chair outside. I can easily understand how one can perish in a house 'fire'.

I read that overheating a Teflon pan produces some bad stuff too, but no experience to relate there.

Yes, if you burn PTFE (aka teflon), it will produce the exact same deadly phosgene gas.

I've seen that brewracingframes.com link at half a dozen other automotive forums this week, so no doubt their server is getting hammered...

I remember reading that warning, many years ago. Amazing--no OSHA around, and the manufacturer still gave out information like that.

How are thing in beautiful Bucks County? Do you ever get to Broadcasting Square?
