Peachparts roadside assistance program

I was reading a recent thread about tyler and his road trip.. I was thinking, wouldnt it be nice if there was a way to contact another peachpart member if stuck on the side of the road? Im not sure as far as the set up would be, maybe a moderator can figure that out. Or maybe, anyone willing to participate would just add to this thread, say where you live approximately, and give an email, or phone number?

Any Ideas on this? I know I would have much more peace of mind knowing if I got stuck in another state, there would be somebody willing to help out.

I live in Cleveland, Ohio. I would be willing to bring a wrench, any part I have available, or even fuel to a fellow member.

Question is who wants to be the keeper of the phone list? That is a big responsibility. I would look up the PRAP and want to talk to John and call the "Listkeeper". Makes me think of Ghostbusters. "I am the gatekeeper. Are you the Keymaster?"

Yes and no. 1-800-FOR-MERC brings you gas/diesel, will do light repair work at time and a half. They will NOT help you wrench on it for free. Either you have it towed in or you pay them time and a half to work on it, assuming it can be done "roadside".

What I think he is talking about is me coming to help you with some tools, my copy of WIS, lend a hand at your wrenching, bring beer, etc, etc.

Right, or even if you are not broke down, if you think you might be having an issue, you could stop at a fellow members driveway or garage to inspect or repair.

It would be a very un-even network, it seems that a whole lot more of the members here are southern, or on the coasts....not too many in MI or up in this region....there's some, but not many in comparison.

This was suggested a few years ago and I was the only one who posted my phone number on my signature page.

Some folks thought it was a trick.

The only person I remember calling me was Whunter. We had some very nice conversations as I remember.

Anyhow some folks made such a fuss I removed my phone number.
