My grandpa was the also the depression-era resourceful type of guy. He would shoot raccoons and squirrels and cook them up for dinner. But instead of using a .22 as the weapon, he would obliterate the critter with a .45 magnum revolver for some reason.

All I've ever hit in my SD was a dead deer.....and I took out a Male Cardinal....he swooped down out of nowhere while I was going 55-60 down a country road, and nailed himself on the A-pillar on the drivers side.
Blood on the pillar, and across the windows on the side of the car....bird goes flopping across the car and ends up in the road.  I felt horrible.....but what idiot of a bird would dive bomb a car?! Maybe it was trying to commit suicide.

My grandpa used to tell me that rabbits always had the tail still attached, so the purchaser knew for sure it wasn't a cat...guess a coon's paws would be the giveaway there...
