I wouldn't be surprised to see the right-wingers organizing a mob against this mission of mercy and compassion.

Palangi 08-15-2009 11:35 AM

No "right winger" that I ever heard of is against legitimate charity.

It's the wrong wingers who seem to favor forced redistribution over charity.

Forced redistribution? Unless something has changed lately, no one is forcing anyone to do anything that isn't voted on by our "elected" representitives.

It's about time someone with the ability to do so has created a few seconds of relief for the disfuntional health-care system in this country. And leave it to a Brit to inform the world that the American Dream is rapidly dying on the vine. For those who think Mr Obama is crazy or left wing, you better wake up. If you haven't yet figured it out, you will soon. Our situation is only going to worsen before it gets better.

He was on 60mins or something like it a few years ago. He started the charity to help 3rd worlders (hence the Remote Area part of his charity name), but found that Americans were in such need, he holds events here. There was one in Tenn. they showed on the program. People drove hundreds of miles for the chance of seeing a doctor. Naturally, some got turned away because of volume/time.

You got that right. When people start realizing that their employer paid health benefits are only as safe as their job and/or employers generosity, they'll change their tune real quick about a national health plan.

For those who have experienced this reality, you know exactly what I'm talking about.

For those who haven't, consider yourselves very fortunate so far. Tomorrow might be a very different day indeed.

All it takes is on e getting laid off or the firm downsizing/ closed and suddenly you are in a world of hurt. not just for the benefits. Most people don't save properly.

How many of those that received the free healthcare had full-time jobs, newer cars, cell phones, X-Box 360, and a sattelite dish off the front of their house?

I don't think they ask, but a Xbox 360 is only good for 3 stitches, or about a third of a root canal. Most of the people interviewed in the 60mins bit I saw were working poor. They worked full time, but still couldn't afford health care.

Compassion.

Simple human compassion can change lives.

I like hearing stories like this, thanks Mistress.

How do you feel about other people that are getting more than they deserve ?

Is it only the people that got a little free healthcare without having to sell their car.

Or is there more greed and corruption that could be fixed ?

All those items keeps them pacified, otherwise you might have a real revolution on your hands.
