dual disc clutch for my Dodge with cummins?

With my stupid knee using the rather heavy clutch on my 3/4 ton dodge with cummins is getting to be a problem.

I have been practicing my shifting without using the clutch and that's not too bad, but I wonder if anybody has any experience with a dual disc clutch and or if one is available for it.

I believe they would be about half as much effort to use.

I'd rather not have to trade off my baby which I bought new for one someone else has maintained and used with an automatic tranny.

An assisted clutch, either vacuum or hydraulic, may be an easier-and cheaper- solution.
I don't have any sources to offer, but I believe the parts exist.

I suppose it would depend on what the clutch was designed for.

Holding crazy power is not a priority for me!

That's my point!!....The SB DD 3250 has the lightest pedal pressure available in a DD for a Cummins...People buy DD's for there holding power...not for light pedal pressure!!!...

This is what you want. Don't know if they're available in the USA.

If I'm not mistaken, the late 60's VW Beetle manual/auto used some kind of system like this.

Ditto on the SB clutch. Get the semi organic one. It'll hold 400 or so HP. I have the full metallic on mine and it's too grabby. However, the pressure plate is the same as the semi organic one.

My clutch pressure is so light now that I had to remove the clutch assist spring to keep me from jamming the pedal through the floor on every shift...

I have had nothing but problems out of the automatic tranny in my 1994 Ram Cummins 2500

It is the 47rh or A517

I gave up on it and have all of the parts to convert the truck to a manual.

Putting in the 5 speed NV4500

Yeah, the nv is stout!

Wow! Thanks for all the ideas. The electric clutches sound interesting if I can find one.

The sb organic sounds like a possibiity too. That is a single disc and pp but its really light, right?

Tom, I feel your pain...I have ankle issues, and driving my little SAAB 900 is torture in traffic. I can't imagine driving a truck with a clutch right now.
