I'm on the mend- went to work today

Two weeks after my night at the ER, I have returned to work. A guy from a nearby suburb drove me.

I was amazed at the thoughtfulness of the people when I returned. After I finished my work day, I came home and immediately had a glass of cold skim milk with chocolate syrup, one of my new pleasures.

Then I fell asleep for two and a half hours, woke up at 7:00 pm EST.

Work starts early. My buddy picked me up at 6:10 and we were at work in less than 20 minutes.

Haven't heard from my two ex gf s who had called me when I was in the hospital. Guess I am off the radar now that I'm not going to die and leave anyone anything.

I have decided to sell several cars and make some consolidations.

So if you are interested in a diesel or two for 750 or so, I will be selloing them to cut all my lingering expenses and give them good homes in the near future. I want them all gone by November 1.

I'm still keeping the 1953 220 and the 1949 170D and my 240D daily driver, but the rest will go, as well as one Citroen DS21.

More on this later.

Glad to hear you're on the mend.

Thanks.

I have a stress test on September 24. The cardio nurses seem to think that I will be better than previously, now that all the pipoes have been roto-rootered.

I think I am going to seek female companionship again. I didn't before because of my son and my job, but those constraints no longer exist.

That's gonna take a bit though, probably not for a couple months.

Anyone ever try online dating? I should ask and set that up as a separate thread.

Good news. Hope your lifestyle isn't crimped...just tweaked for the good.;)

And, fwiw, twenty days and counting to my 18th anniversary of "CABGx5", proving, once and for all, there is life after death:o:D

And speaking of spending nights in the ER, I spent 3.5 hrs at ours Friday night waiting for 25 stitches in my chin.!!! Dropped the bike on sand in the street. Silly thing, but the chin caught the windshield and left a pretty nasty tear.

Heart problems make you look at life a bit differently. People are quite thoughtful many times- they were to me. Glad to hear you are getting back into the stream of life.

Hey,

ahhh man I'm sorry to hear that happened to you!, but I'm glad that you're on the mend and are getting better!

If you're going to do online dating, don't do eharmony lol my sister did that and it takes like 2 hours to awnser all the questions and only to find out they can't match you with someone.

There is another one she used that is really good, i'll have to get back to you with the name.

Sorry to hear you are letting some of your cars go :( Will you be keeping your 220?

There is a guy interested in the 220D and I don't want to let it go, because the engine is so damn strong. I am torn on that one.

Glad to hear you are doing well. There is nothing like it to get you focused on what is important.

strelnik,
Thanks for posting yout situation, and its good you are on the mend.
One of our local radio hosts is in his mid 50, and an active softball player. At a recent game, he collapsed after running the bases. One of hos team mates was a cardio specialist, and got him great emergency care. Turns out he has about 40% obstruction in several arteries. He said he had no indication other than a little shortness of breath.

So, your experience, and his experience have caused me to ask my doctor to set me up for a cardio stress test. I am due for my yearly physical next month. I also am an active softball player 9 baring injuries). And I seem to have a slight shortness of breath.
So, again thanks for posting. You have been a factor in me scheduling the test.

Glad your doing OK.
Stay away from the junk food. I know it's expensive to eat health but you gotta try!

I met my wife on Myspace, may want to give that a try & it's free! :)

Is that the test where they inject you with an isotope then put you on a treadmill and make you run like crazy to get your heart rate up?

I had one of those but the isotope reacted with me and I had the worst migrane attack of my life.

As for online dating. I second what another poster said about e-harmony. I tried it and like he said, took a couple of hours to discover I ws incompatible with anyone else in their database. Actually it did work out in a perverse way as I had my girlfriend try it as well and she turned out to have no matches either. So, I figured we were compatible and now she's my wife :D

By the way. Some pictures of your collection would be appreciated.

- Peter.
