I remember my dad coming into the house after that happened, white as a ghost and said :"Do you know how many hours I logged on that plane?" It just stunned us, he was a pilot for Pan Am.

So, he has terminal cancer. Can't we just, you know, like, dial up the morphine. Where's Sarah's Death Panel?

Mmmm, I think you mean "dial DOWN the morphine". Ease his pain? I don't think so.

Mayhaps the judge will let slip, oops, when, where and at which gate he will be released. Perhaps the families of the victims will take him on a nice scenic tour of the nearest farm, maybe a walk thru of the swineyard? One can hope.

B.S. to all that compassion crap. Some crimes deserve much more than a death sentence.

If one of my relitives died on that plane I would fly over their to personaly deliver a bullet to him. I'd be kind of surprised if someone doesn't.

I read an article From a Ex CIA agent involved in interrogations. I do not recall the name of the terrorist but we was way up the chain of command. During the interrogation, they gave him tea and cookies. He drank the tea but did not eat the cookies. Ended up he was diabetic. The interrogator brought him some sugar free cookies. That along with a few will placed lies got him to spill his guts. He ended up telling them exactly where to find Sadam. The point of the story he said was that they (the enemy) think we are cold hearted bastards who care nothing about humanity and will destroy them in a heart beat with out remorse. The action of giving him cookies essentially took the wind out of his sail.

I am not thrilled about releasing this guy from jail bu his life is over. He has been deprived of his freedom during the time in which he was healthy. He knows his days are numbered. Releasing him may/probably will make people think twice. The US/UK are releasing a man who took part in the murder of 259 people because he has cancer and is dying. That does not jibe with the propaganda we have been told about the evil (US/UK) empires.

The lives of the 259 murdered people cannot be brought back. If his release makes one potential bomber think twice and turn around, IMO, it will have been worth it. He is a dead man soon anyway. Whether he dies in prison or not to me makes little difference at this point. His release may actually do some good.

How the hell do you think that his release is going to make a potential bomber think twice??? He was NOT deprived of his freedom, He deprived himself of his freedom by his actions. I sincerely hope that you are not in a position to influence or affect other peoples lives with your judgement.

Did you even read what the man from the CIA said? The theory is that if we show the world that we are not who they think we are, opinions change. The terrorist who was given cookies gave up Sadam.

Personally I could care less what you hope for.

Care to enlighten me with where you read this story? I'm going to have to call B S on this one. A CIA agent gave a terrorist cookies and he ratted out Saddam!!!! That is hysterical!! Now Obama is going to nationalize the Nabisco company!! Maybe Abdullah was stoned on hashish and had a case of the screaming blind munchies when he got caught. Sorry-I couldn't help myself-I'm laughing my ass off right now. On a more serious note, even if this is true I still feel no sympathy for this murderous piece of trash. Maybe if his mom had given him more cookies when he was little he wouldn't have turned out to be a murderer, but it's a moot point. He is a murderer and should be shown the same amount of mercy he showed his innocent victims-NONE.

I don't feel any sympathy for him either. Having him rot in jail would suit me fine. The thing is he will do no good in jail. He 'might' do some good out of jail. Either way he is a dead man.

As for the cookies:

http://www.time.com/time/magazine/article/0,9171,1901491,00.html

Whether it is true or not I do not know. Given the way the FBI/CIA banndy around the "truth" who knows.

Keeping him in prison until he dies is the way to go. Dying is quick and easy. There is nothing about being locked up that is easy or pleasant in any way. That's the best place for people who do things like this. There should be nothing good in his life anymore.
