I love the Times, having read it daily for 35 years. And I enjoy reading both sides of an issue.


But you really have to scratch your head when they purport to be objectively providing all of the news.

The Wall Street Journal is owned by the Fox News Corp, as are probably many of the others. Al Jazeera is actually a pretty good news source, they have actually been banned from Iran for their reporting. The Washington Times, aka "the Moonie paper" is a piece of absolute crap not worthy of the bottom of a bird cage, no one who has the least bit of intellectual integrity would quote anything out of that disinformation rag.

I'd being willng to bet most of these are also owned by Murdoch:

Laugh if you want, it is the premier independent news source in the Arab World. Perhaps if you stick your finger in your ear and say La La La....

My point is that if the Times were as intellectually honest as they claim to be, and are offering their readership a variety of viewpoints on national and world events, they would be able to provide a link to Fox News, and other domestic news sources that provide an alternate viewpoint. After all, they are linking to CNN and MSNBC.

Since they are offering a variety of viewpoints, they should be able to recognize that their readership can sift the wheat from the chaff.

I didn't realize there was a litmus test. Perhaps Bill O'rielly, Hannity's and Beck's incessant bashing of them over any insane little nit pissed them off. BTW, perhaps you can tell me, why isn't there a link to the NYT on Fox New's website? My own view is that in a free country, they are free to link or not link who they please, just like the NYT is, so in the end, WGAS.

I bet Al Jazeera has better world news coverage than the Washington Times.

They also didn't list CBN News.

I don't know if that was meant sarcastically or not, but, like it or not, Fox has clearly achieved mainstream status ...

July Ratings: Fox News Beats MSNBC & CNN Combined in Total Day and Prime

Fox News Channel continued its cable news dominance in July not only beating CNN and MSNBC combined, but showing the most growth in the younger demo. In A25-54 viewers, FNC is up 48% in total day, and up 70% in primetime, compared to July '08.

FNC had 9 of the top 10 shows in cable news in Total Viewers and ranks as the third most-watched basic cable channel behind USA and TNT.

Cable news' #1 show for 104 consecutive months, "The O'Reilly Factor", is up 37% over July '08. "Glenn Beck Program" is up the most, up 120% over last year's 5pmET show. "On the Record with Greta Van Susteren" is up 60% and "Hannity" is up 41%

My point is that if you claim to be the paper of record, you should not decide for your readers what to think or where to get your other viewpoints.

The Times is a great paper, with great reporting - and editors who frequently add their own political point of view to the news.

I'm sorry - but I don't see links to any other news organizations on the Fox website, conservative or otherwise.

On the other hand, the Times has links to a few dozen, but not Fox.

So like, you're the president of the Fox News Fan Club, coming here to complain? Once again, WGAS.

As a matter of fact, I don't even watch Fox. I get 95% of my news from the NY Times. I just don't care for their hypocrisy.
