I think it's really sad for this woman. Even if a test should reveal she has some kind of hermaphroditic condition, it could certainly have been something she and her family never knew about. And she very well might just be a woman with masculine features. Good for her for continuing to pursue her goals in the face of constant doubt and sometimes cruel mocking. What do you want her to do, hide away in a closet because you find her odd-looking? If another athlete or coach wanted to quietly question her gender to an official, I can understand that from a point of athletic fairness, i.e., they want to confirm the playing field is equal. But why the ridicule? Nothing wrong with occasional water-cooler joke, but draw the line a little, eh?:o

the poor christians also point to themselves as some sort of victims of a secular nation/world but, when given their freedom and choice, they quickly point a judging finger at anyone "different" than themselves.

do yourself a favor, and anyone else who is reading, and watch the documentary "For the Bible Tells Me So." when listening to actual intelligent people and nobel prize winning people of the cloth talk about scripture and biblical history, some of it actually makes sense and the nature of the bible comes to light. when you listen to people like this, either nausea and revulsion kicks in, or their hate spreads and infects you. page by page literal interpretation of the bible is baseless and ignorant. it ignores the whole history and social standing of those who wrote it. it ignores the translations and vernacular of those who read it and translated it. literalist readings are a modern invention and have been used ignorantly to twist the words and create fear and hate, and to set groups of people aside to judge and quickly create a false sense of community through "otherness." cheap, ugly, vile, ignorant, and hateful.

I'm a conservative, and I do have a sense of humor. One of the things I find funny is die-hard religious people.
