Anyone have any information on one of these? Found one in pretty nice shape. Looks like black leather interior in really good shape. Straight and no visible rust or damage. I have only had a outside look at it. Looks like it has been sitting for a while. Price seems very high at 6000.00. I thought it said 600.00. Windshield gasket is toast.

I hope to get a closer look later today. Anything specific to this model and year I should be aware of?

Thanks,

J

That car is a W116.

Rust is the biggest issue. Look in the rockers, lift up the drivers side carpet and look under. Look at the wheel arches, did someone put the chrome covers on to hide rust? Look inside the wheel wells.

Other than rust, the build quality and handling is awesome. It is a very tossable car for its size, not bloated like the 140.

Someone will talk about the evil servo. i have seen some 75 cars with the dreaded automatic climate control with the evil servo, and some with the plder manual system.

How can you tell?

Does it have a big square control with several buttons stacked in a vertical row? This with a wheel to the left is the automatic.

The maual has one large twist know with levers on both sides. This is the setup to hope for.
