look what i found today!

while driving home from emissions i saw this on the curb with a sign that said free. i figured it had a bad motor or something major. the only thing wrong is the top is rusted a little, the blade adjustment handle is broken and it's missing the guide(i dont know the proper name. it's the piece that slides in the top to push the board through.) anyone own one of these? are they any good? ive been wanting a table saw for a while. cant wait to get it all cleaned up. isn't there some treatment made for the tops on table saws?

There is a treatment for it, and i can't remember what it is right now. If it's Rockwell, it should be a good one. You need the miter gauge, and the handle should be able to be found. I'd say good score.

WD40 and steel wool will take that rust down.

You obviously aren't too familiar with table saws...be very careful, we don't want to be calling you 'stumpy.'

well, my experience with table saws goes back to jr high. i do know they can be dangerous if improperly used. i plan on cleaning it up and getting all required pieces before attempting to use it.

Me to, I have brought home lawn mowers that only needed a tune up to run like brand new. I got a $500 gas grill at the dump that only needed about $40 worth of parts to be like brand new. Man DUDE you've got me want to go the dump again.

I always get lawnmowers, leaf blowers and trimmers from junk day. Why spend money on them when you can get them for free!

I believe when you put garbage in the trash bin it becomes city property; if the city wants to play it tough they could fine the people that collect cans and bottles out of the recycling bins. That's what they did in Orange County to stop the "disturbance" of homeless people going through the trash.

I look like a homeless person, so I will watch my back the next time I dig through someone's trash.
