Autocross in GAry yesterday
 

There were some very interesting cars there in addition to the usual slew of Miatas, subarus and BMWs there was an ancient VW beetle, a triumph spitfire (it only broke down once on course), a Porsche cayman (fast) and an awesome Porsche GT3 set up for autocross (it spun at the finish line massively taking out the timing lights on one run).

Fast time of the day was set by a highly modified corvette.

I was 14 of 50 in raw time and 10th of 50 pax.

A good time. My Hoosiers are getting tired and I have to finagle the suspension and tire pressures to get any balance in the car. I felt pretty much out of control every run every turn.

It was in the parking lot of the Majestic Star Casino. I blew a tire on my trailer on the way up and then drove around for a half an hour there not being able to find the stupid casino because of lousy street signs....I nearly gave up and came home. It got so bad I almost stopped and asked directions. :P

Good for you, Tom. Those are downright respectable numbers! It sure sounds like a lot of fun, too.

That sounds like a lot of fun. It's been years since I drove in one of those. I'd like to try out the Corvette one time but ever since that car fish-tailed and nearly spun, it scared the crap out of me and now I drive it like a granny.

That car has just never had the adhesion that I would have thought a car of that caliber should have.
