I bought this 300e euro from another forum member.. I have been itching for a 5 speed for years now!

It's wonderous.....leatherique will do wonders for the seats.

I figured worst case scenario, can swap my near mint interior from my other 300e to this one... The car drives smooth and straight... Ill have it home by sunday. Does anybody know if there were any other 300e euro shipped in 87?

Its kind of weird seeing a W124 without an airbag.

And resist you shouldn't. You have found a nice machine, although I would get rid of the black grill shell. It's also too bad about the license plates. I, too, live in Ohio and am dreading the time when I finally have to change my out-of-state plates for the locals. Ohio has to have one of the ugliest plates in the country.

I've only come across one other Euro 124- and it was a N/A 300D

Couple of DUI's and you can have those purty yeller ones.

300E

Nice ride. I have driven a couple of 300E 5 speed cars. Both left an incredible impression. Would love to own one. All the best with your new W124.

Time for good, bad, and ugly....

So, I finally took possession of my 300e euro. I have some mixed emotions about it ..

The good:
Its a 5 SPEED.
I drove it 200 miles with no problems
engine and drivetrain seem to be in good order.
came with 500e rims, and an extra set of regulars.

The bad:
There is a clunk every time I shift. Im pretty sure its the bushings that hold the diff in place...
2 huge rips in the front seats..
Cracked dash
non working odometer.
It felt a little loose on the freeway, I blame tie rods, and the p.o. only changed the right ball joint.
Many minor (yet expensive) problems that include non working ac, noisy fan blower, noisy wiper, and squeaky suspension.

The ugly:
Probably the worst paint job ive ever seen. It looks great from 15 feet away:o

I had to pull over every 40 mins to stretch my back from what is THE most uncomfortable seats I have ever sat in....EVER:eek:
Some bubbling paint on the top of the door sill, and fender.
a little bit of rust in engine bay, and in various nooks of the car..

But it is a 5 speed!
