Nope, get your facts straight. When Bush defeated Al Gore he won under the rules, just like Al Franken did. Al Gore beat him in the popular vote but as I learned in my high school social studies class the President is elected by the electoral vote. George Bush has more electoral votes so he won. The 'hypocritical libs' simply pointed out that there were more people in this country that voted that wanted Al Gore as our United States President instead of George W. Bush.

In the case we are currently talking about, Al Franken had more votes. There is no electoral college for Senators, so Mr. Franken won the race.

Conservatives that can't keep their facts straight....drives me nuts!

So please clarify for me how Senator Franken 'stole' the election?

I'm not part of y'all so I don't know. The situation in Florida is that we do not know if every vote was counted. In Minnesota every countable vote was counted. Every decision in Florida was decided along party lines. In Minnesota every decision was unanimous.

Nah. It wasn't as clear cut in Bush v. Gore. Not even close.

Furthermore, the demon libs more or less accepted Bush, at least until he crammed OIF down the world's throat. After 9/11, Bush had 80+% ratings. I don't expect anywhere near the patriotic support of the elected POTUS from Rrs regarding Obama -- certainly hasn't happened so far.

Rrs don't seem to be concerned about respecting the will of the people. Obama won resoundingly but Rrs are on track to disregard that fact as much as possible. And Franken won a long recount, a recount considered fair by an overwhelming majority of Minnesotans. At one point early on, when he was ahead by a couple hundred, Coleman said that Franken should concede for the good of the state. And then Coleman was down by more than that for months and he somehow resisted conceding. Must have been quite the inner stuggle.

Are you calling the Supreme Court hypocrital libs? The conservative supremes, by a vote of 5-4, stopped the Florida recount before it was complete.
Franken was the winner of numerous recounts, and numerous court challenges by good sport Coleman.

I was born the same day as Franken, May 21, but one year later. We both started out as math majors. So I feel a small connection with the guy.

To be honest, I wasn't all that honest with my comments. I realize that Franken won the vote; I'm worried about the integrity of the recounts (as I was with Bush), but I realize that if the Dems tried to steal the election with padded counts, then the Repubs probably did the same.

As a conservative for the past eight years (I want less gov't solutions), I've watched the left (politicians, media, forum members, etc) go absolutely insane about Bush (some justified and some completely unjustified), and I've become rather sick of hearing it. So now there's Obama in office, and I find it funny that the left gets so bent out of shape when they are criticized with insane comments about their favorite politicians. It was okay to whine and stretch the truth when Bush was in office, but now Obama/Pelosi/Franken are here, so there's no room for insane comments.

I dealt with it for eight years; your turn.
