Meet the Beatles

. . . cars

From an article in Vietnam, of all places:

10. Paul McCartney Lexus RX 400 horsepower edition of Paul McCartney

9. George Harrison Aston Martin DB5

8. Ringo Starr Radford Mini de Ville

7. George Harrision The Rocket

The Rocket Company's light car is a rare car. It is a street car was inspired by vintage F1 racers and is equipped with a 1000 cc motor by Yamaha.

6. Paul McCartney Lexus LS 600

5. Ringo Starr Mercedes-Benz 190E AMG

The AMG tuned 190E is on display in the Mercedes-Benz museum in Germany.

4. George Harrision McLaren F1

Designed by Gordan Murray, the McLaren F1 is one of the most exclusive cars in the world and at the time, the fastest car in the world, with prices over $1M. Only 100 were produced. Currently the car is still owned by Harrison family.

3. Beatle's 1965 Austin Princess Limo

Each member of the band was presented with one. As such, the car's reputation became synonymous with the word "Beatle".

2. George Harrision Mini Cooper from Magical Mystery Tour

1. John Lennon Rolls-Royce Phantom

Lennon bought the Rolls-Royce Phantom V in 1965. Lennon changed almost everything inside the car, adding a refrigerator, a couch that can turn into a bed at the rear. At auction in 1985, the car sold for $2.3 million dollars.

They have a new remastered CD set - I heard a bit about it on NPR yesterday. Sharp sounding stuff.

George Harrison is the man! 190E AMG, F1 McLaren, and a DB5 - great taste in cars.

Harrison was one of the classiest, most intelligent guys in rock and roll, IMO.

George's Car Washing Instructions

Once a gearhead, always a gearhead, apparently from this 1962 letter.
