Water4Gas - is this thing real!?

My friend is wildly excited about this: www.water4gas.com - bought/borrowed books, all he ever talks about now is this d&%n thing... I haven't even read the first page of the big book he's toting around... I've seen too many hoaxes.

Was wondering if anyone here had heard of it or had looked into it?!

James

Tell your friend I have some land for sale. Florida zip code. Some potential for seasonal flooding, but this is minimal and the views of the marshes and migratory birds are fantastic!

Kidding aside, this has been kicked around on the net for ages. Bottom line...you can't make something from nothing without energy from somewhere.

Actually I have a friend doing something on this order.
I've only litely talked to him about it.
It does work, same concept as a hydrogen fuel vehicle, except you supplement Diesel in his case, with hydrogen.

They have several working prototypes, his one PU does just under 50mpg (he likes to womp on it too) and it will take out most cars on the road. I've seen the burn outs, one with close to a 1000 lbs in the back of the truck.

Don't know how they are getting / producing the Hydrogen.

They have had some issue's, I heard one of the hydrogen tank blew up, so they've moved to a different style.

I think he said their goal is to convert a vehicle, small to medium sized trucks, for under 800 bucks, double your mileage and performance.

No idea what the long term effects on the engine are, and my bet is they aren't thinking about that.

I don't know about effects on the engine, but I do know that hydrogen had a rather deleterious effect on the Hindenburg. Run - and not on hydrogen.

The water4gas type that he is talking about I know does not work my buddies built one as did my chemistry professor in college. My prof noticed a .3% decrease in economy and my friends had a .5% increase basically both of them were very easily explained by how one drives. If you want real increases in fuel economy slow down and tune up your car.
