The #1 tax I pay is property tax. The biggest portion of that is for schools. Should I march in front of a school?

These Tea parties have been occuring all over the country.

Let's remember what triggered the revolutionary war. Excessive Taxation.

And I am also getting sick of anybody that disagrees with the government (ie the politicians !!!) they are called freaks, nutballs, right wingers.

Because I am constantly seeing the government (politicians) doing things completely against what the public wants.

Here in Chicago, 80% of the people said they do NOT want the Olympics if the taxpayers are on the hook for cost overruns. The City Council UNANAMOUSLY gave Daley the right to put taxpayers on the hook.

Here in Ill, the state legalized video gaming at bars etc, W/O PUBLIC INPUT, most surveys are against it, and MANY municipalites have or will have banned it before it even becomes law. FYI the full story of this one is a HUGE joke on us taxpayers.

I blame them all.

The US has among the lowest tax rates in the world, for an industrialized nation. Singapore is lower. Federal taxes are the least of most people's taxes. Why are people protesting the Fed Gov't? You want no taxes and no gov't? You want NO military?

I can surely sympathize. The municipalities here, with specific note on the schools, never fail to raise the taxes by 7-10% every year.

My father's house, a 2000 square foot high ranch, has the taxes up to $10K without his elderly exemption. I'm just dumbfounded.........$10K for a typical three bedroom high ranch in a separate incorporated village.

What are the figures out there?

It's quite amazing to me to perpetually observe your chronic complaints about income tax.........how grossly high it is........how much money they take from your pay.........when, in reality........you haven't paid one red cent to the Feds yet...........now, have you? Let's be honest here.

Thats not what we want. We want a fiscally responsable government. One that doesn't spend money it doesn't have, and devalues our currancy.

Really? The currant jokers in power seem to be doing a good job of continuing where the last joker left off.

Federal taxes maybe the lowest on paper, although then why do people AND corporations use offshore tax havens, create offshore subsidaries etc to move the tax burden away from the US.

And again "Taxes" may be low, but remember there is a fee for everything, they aren't taxes right ?

And what is the overall tax rate
Total your Federal, State, Sales Tax add in all thouse fees, property tax, figure 20 % of your phone, Cell phone, electric and gas are taxes.
What % of your gasoline is taxes ?

If you go through the numbers the overall tax burden is not what they tell us.

Deduct that from your income and what % are you really paying.

But these protesters aren't protesting against taxes, they're Republican bimbos protesting against Obama.

That's perfectly legitimate, IMHO. A house worth $350K pays $3.5K in taxes. My father's house is nearly triple that figure.

See it for what you want, certianly there probably are some hard core Republicans in their protesting Obama, but most were protesting both parties.

http://www.lp.org/blogs/staff/libertarians-join-912-tea-party-march-on-washington-display-republicans-equal-big-govern

"Wes Benedict, Executive Director of the Libertarian Party, commented, "As expected, there were lots of Republicans at this event. However, with all of the smiles and thumbs-up we received, you could tell that many people felt little or no allegiance to the Republican Party. There was a constant flow of people stopping to photograph our signs and we passed out lots of Libertarian Party literature and stickers."

Because they want to pay NO taxes. They want someone ELSE to pay for the military and all other expenses related to the operation of the country. It's the same reason people steal cars, because they don't want to pay for it. They want someone ELSE to pay for it.
