A thanks to SwampYankee....

....for helping me out of a jam.

We had some excess office furniture in an overpriced storage unit that we needed to get rid of fast lest we get charged a full months rent. On a whim I got a hold of Swampie who will now be putting it to good use. I'm happy to see that it has a good home instead of ending up in a junk yard somewhere.

(I used to sit at both the corner unit and that large 4 draw desk.....trash the other one to your distraction but take good care of those other two )

Hey, you're welcome man. Like I said, we've become quite attached to our delaminated, finish-worn-off relics from 50 years ago but can't pass up the opportunity to upgrade where we can. Especially when the price is right! Us warehousers are often an afterthought to the front office folks when it comes to furnishings. In my case it hardly matters, I rarely see the wood of my desk.

A couple chairs may disappear but everything else will be put to good use. And icy beverages are always a plus!

LOL....you can't beat free furniture with free delivery and a free coffee

Your desk is made of wood? I've never managed to see the surface of it through all of the paper work

I'd say that my old desk is a good 30% bigger then that one so he'll soon have room for his morning beverage

Everything has its place! I usually clean house once a month, or two. People throw stuff on my desk all day long. Anything real important gets filed away, the rest is stuff I need to work my way through as I go along before it gets filed. Circular or otherwise.

It keeps people the hell away from my desk! Some might even say it's a sign of genius.

They would be wrong, but they might say it.

Remember, it only looks disorganized to the outside observer

Used to work with a guy who refused to have his office carpeted. Every one of the 12x12 tiles that weren't absolutely necessary for walking between the door and the desk was covered under a foot or more of paperwork.

He swore he knew what was in each pile, and could find any document in a matter of seconds. Guy was VP of Engineering, no less.

As a rule i'll avoid burying things on my desk. The worst that happens is several papers stack up which I will sort every few days.
